October New Patterns
We feel very fortunate to collaborate with so many talented designers that create beautiful patterns using our yarns. It is an honor for us to be a part of their creative journey.
Today we are starting a new series on the blog, once a month we will highlight the patterns that are published using our yarns. We hope this series will give you inspiration for your next cast-on and to discover new designers and patterns.
Happy knitting!
Elin & Kaarna
We are flattered to have Nurtured Fine featured twice on Veera Välimäki new book ‘Stripes’ published by Laine Magazine.
Elin is the ultimate go-to sweater – especially in summer and spring. With short sleeves and plenty of positive ease, it is perfect for warmer days too. This stunning knit is worked from the top down in one piece.
Kaarna is a fascinating shawl that plays with the idea of reversed or mirrored stripes. The sequence is simple, but the outcome is very graphic and striking.
Fiore
Fiore, Italian for “blossom” or “flower”, is a lacy asymmetrical shawl, beginning with just a handful of stitches, subtle colorwork stripes bloom into an addictive lace motif. The lace is deceptively simple and is finished with a ribbed edge and a picot bind-off.
Elizabeth’s sample is knit up in Leizu Fingering Simple, c, Biscotti & Fleurs Pressées.
Seraphina Shawl
Seraphina is a crocheted shawl using a combination of basic stitches for a lacy luxe accessory to complement any outfit. Talia used Leizu DK, c. Sherwood for her beautiful sample.
My Canvas Sweater
The latest in the series of designs that Carolyn Bloom has been working on with embroidery in mind.
As with the others in the Canvas collection, this top-down, raglan pullover is easy to knit and a perfect blank slate to embroider. The increases and decreases through the sweater were thoughtfully designed so that there are runways for embroidery.
It’s the perfect sweater for beginners and for seasoned knitters looking to try their hand at a fresh take on embroidered knitting! Carolyn’s sample is worked up in Fino, c. Orion, and embroidered in Fino, c. Birch.
Velero shawl
Velero is a triangular shawl inspired by Rimouski’s open sea and sailboats in the sunset. Like a sail blowing in the wind, it features patterns reminiscent of portholes, fishing nets, and sun-drenched waves.
️Tania sample is worked in Leizu Fingering, c. Empress & Crépuscule exclusive colorways for La Vie Laine‘s 5th anniversary.
Gaca Cowl + Beanie
Inspired by the innovative textile designer Aleksandra Gaca, the Gaca Cowl + Beanie is a geometric set knitted in Mélange N.1 + Boucle.
Aleksandra Gaca designs innovative woven textiles. She works with brands, architects, manufacturers, and institutions to create textile solutions, products, and installations that translate her clients’ identities, needs, and interests into woven form. Her work appears in interiors, architecture, fashion, and art exhibitions.
Campside Poncho
It’s hard to believe that it has been almost a decade since the release of the first pattern in the Campside series by Alicia Plummer and the start of this beautiful collaboration.
The Campside story is one of relaxation- of paddling across a cabin floor barefoot, trailing pine needles behind you across the worn wood- of sitting by a crackling campfire as it pops and dances, wet hair and a hot mug in hand.
Like the other patterns from the Campside series, this one is also knitted in Leizu DK.
Apple Picking Socks
Apple Picking socks are the perfect adorable fall socks worked in Nomade, c. Brownstone + Al Fresco. Cozy up with this new pattern while drinking a cup of warm apple cider or go apple picking.
In this pattern, you’ll also receive a cheat sheet for 3 different sets of heel instructions. For the sample, I used a heel flap and gusset, but I also include instructions for an afterthought heel and a short row heel.
Lili sweater
Worked up in Fino, Lili is a lovely timeless, and versatile top-down sweater that you will enjoy wearing all year long. The side cable really adds a charming touch.
