Mezcal Cardigan by Thea Colman
We are really excited to kick off something we have been putting together for quite some time now.
A collection of patterns based on a collective idea, a connective thread that would link them all together and create in the end a complete knitter’s wardrobe.
The theme for this year is ‘All The Year’; we are evoking a walk through a garden with seasons passing through as we progress, scenery changing and how it translates into knitted garments.
The patterns will be released progressively throughout the year, bringing you new ideas and exciting projects to work on all year long.
The first pattern to be released today is ‘Mezcal’ by Thea Colman.
August is already here, going back to school is around the corner, nights will get colder, leaves will be changing, it’s our favorite knitting time of the year again!
Here is what Thea wanted to convey with this design:
“Mezcal is my sweater for when Summer turns to Fall this year – with an easy fit, a bit of lace, and a classic shape that will go with anything from shorts to jeans to a dress. The pattern itself is a soothing knit for travel or beach, and seamless construction means finishing just a few edges is easy.
The lace allows for a little warmth, but won’t be too heavy on a crisp day. Details such as darts at each shoulder, a ribbing that plays off the body, a cozy collar and deep cuffs play with textures and lines that show up beautifully in the yarn.”
Mezcal is knitted in Leizu DK; Thea used the ‘Satchel’ colorway for hers, which complements the lace patterning really beautifully, adding depth all over without out stating it.
Leizu DK being one of our most popular bases, it is available through all of our retailers in a wide range of colors.
I’m looking forward to seeing ‘Mezcal’ project pages in an array of colors! I was seriously blown away by the beauty of this one when I received some of the samples at home, the fact that it is an open cardigan flatters every silhouette.
A wonderful day to all of you and happy knitting!
