New Pattern ~ Amberle Shawl
Every knitter loves a good shawl.
Shannon Cook’s latest pattern is one of them. We are so happy that she chose Nurtured to bring it to life.
Textured stitches and the use of two contrasting colors make us want to cast on immediately.
Shannon accepted to share her inspiration behind this design:
My inspiration for this design was texture. I knew I wanted to use these two stitch patterns to create a triangular shawl that was just filled with scrumptious texture!
When I swatched with Nurtured I just knew I had finally found the right yarn! The name Amberle came from the main character of the TV show (and books) The Shannara Chronicles.
I was watching the first episode while I was swatching and fell head over heels for the name and her strong yet feminine elf queen character!
Amberle is knit in a worsted weight yarn on size 4.5mm/US 7 needles. It’s easy to memorize and quite an addicting project!
I’d classify this an intermediate pattern but that’s not to say an eager Intermediate Beginner couldn’t tackle it. The stitches are quite easy (& fun) once you do a few!
Hop on over to Shannon’s blog to read more about it and to also have a chance to WIN YOUR VERY OWN Amberle Kit including yarn and pattern.
Happy knitting everyone!
